An architect is responsible for designing and developing attractive buildings which are eco friendly, spacious and appealing. A professional resume should reveal the skills, abilities and expertise of the candidate in the field of architecture and highlight his or her achievements and contributions. The candidate should have creative ideas to solve the problems of the clients in constructing their buildings. The people who have an interest in the field of arts and architecture can make a great career in the field of architecture.
An architect’s career is based on two criteria, one is a perfect resume and other is the candidate’s portfolio. A resume will help you showcase your professional skills, expertise and qualifications to readers while your portfolio showcases you’re designing skills and talent. It is advisable to keep these points in mind when deciding the layout of your resume. For those who want to make a successful career in the field you are on the right place. Let’s look at some guidelines how to write a great architecture resume which will help you get an interview call.
Format: A good format should start with the contact information. If you are applying for a job and you want the people to contact you than this is a very important section. Start with your name, contact number, permanent resident address and email id.
Objective: Next focus on the objective section, this will give a brief idea about career goals and your interest in achieving your target in the company. The resume objective should be concise and attractive.
Professional Experience: After you finish with the objective the next section will be professional experience. This will be the most important section in your architecture resume that helps employers get a feel of your work experience. You should note down all your professional experiences in a systematic manner in bullet form. Write the name of your previous company and just below that list down the responsibilities you were assigned to in the respective company. Always write in chronological order i.e. starting with the recent job following the rest.
Education: The next line would be educational qualification where you need to specify your degrees, name of the architecture school, year of passing and marks if you have scored well in your academic year. You can also add the awards and certificates you have received during your schooling period. Continue further with the skills you have in your career history .List out skills like computer skills, trainings or special seminars attended in the past. You can add reference section depending upon your choice but don’t write the names of the references. Make a separate sheet with all the references. Do not include your close relatives or friends in this section.
Your Architecture resume should be presented in such a way that it should be eye catching with a proper format. Proof read your resume several times to avoid the mistakes. Our guidelines will definitely help you to write a unique architecture resume with successful career ahead in architecture field.
